General questions about MDA2
What hardware does the customer need for MDA2?
The NEO free-standing luminaire currently supports the MDA2 functionality. The WiFi module is built into the luminaire and can be activated during the commissioning process.
How is MDA2 activated?
The customer can activate the WiFi via the IBN commissioning process and connect the luminaire to regend.cloud via a local WiFi network.
What additional hardware is required?
A 2.4GHz WiFi network is required to network an MDA2 component.
What is the commissioning process (IBN process) for an MDA2 component?
The commissioning process for an MDA2 component takes place on site at the customer's premises.

What are the costs for commissioning and using MDA2?
The commissioning and use of an MDA2 system consists of the following 3 parts:

Access to https://regent.cloud is required to commission an MDA2 system. A one-off activation fee is charged here.
2 Commissioning of the MDA2 components
The MDA2 components must be connected to regent.cloud. This step is carried out per MDA2 component and on site at the customer's premises. The costs are calculated according to the number of MDA2 components.
If commissioning is carried out by the customer, there are no costs for this step.
3 License fees
An annual license fee is charged for the use of regent.cloud and the maintenance (FW updates) of all MDA2 components. This license fee is calculated according to the number of MDA2 components.
Is an on-premises installation possible?
An on-premises installation of regent.cloud is not intended due to its complexity.
However, if an on-premises installation is desired, we would like to discuss the technical aspects with you.
What is regent.cloud?
regent.cloud is the smart building portal developed and distributed by Regent. Dabei werden Rohdaten von z.B. installierten Sensoren, verarbeitet, analysiert und visualisiert.
regent.cloud liegt in der Microsoft Azure Cloud mit Standort Schweiz. Es gelten die entsprechenden Datenschutzbestimmungen (https://azure.microsoft.com/).

Was bedeutet On-Premises?
On-Premises oder On-Prem (in den eigenen Räumlichkeiten, vor Ort oder lokal) bezeichnet ein Nutzungs- und Lizenzmodell für serverbasierte Computerprogramme (Software). Bis ca. 2010 war die lokale Nutzung bzw. die Lizenzierung für die lokale Nutzung von Software der Normalfall und hatte daher keine besondere Bezeichnung. Erst seitdem die lokale Nutzung zunehmend von Software as a Service (SaaS) oder Cloud Computing verdrängt wird, ist der Begriff Off-Premises als Antonym entstanden.

Questions about the MDA2 components
Why does the NEO have two motion sensors?
The two motion sensors of the NEO are optimized for a specific detection range and provide the ideal information for smart building applications:
- each motion sensor represents a working area and measures based on a defined zone. Movements outside the two working zones are not taken into account. This means that the light can be ideally switched.
- only by separating the two work zones can the workplace resolution required for the smart building application be achieved.
If NEO is only required for one workstation, this can be ideally implemented by deactivating a sensor, e.g. to exclude aisle zones from detection.
Why does the NEO have two brightness sensors?
The Neo free-standing luminaire uses the two brightness sensors to independently regulate and illuminate workstations. Each brightness sensor has a defined detection range in relation to the respective workstation. For control purposes, both sensors are considered equally important (average value).
In the brightness control, a clear focus is therefore placed on the work surface and a pleasant control is ensured.
How are the two status LEDs of the NEO controlled?

The status LEDs of the NEO can be used for various purposes. The following services can influence them:
